Curiosity killed the cat; satisfaction brought it back. If ever a wizard exhibited a danger of self destruction from too much knowledge, surely it was a Ravenclaw Scorpio. It doesn't matter whether the pet obsession this week is botany, Muggle pop music, or the history of the Necronomicon, if a Ravenclaw Scorpio wants to know about it, then he will, and damn the consequences: full speed ahead. Indeed, just mention that a subject is "forbidden" and you'll see a peculiar light shine in their eyes. They sneak into locked rooms after dark, and forge passes to the restricted library sections. The lust for arcane knowledge is both the greatest strength of these wizards, and the Achilles heel. It's best to indulge them whenever possible and let the obsession burn itself out; and, when this is not possible, to explain in great detail and absolutely *no* patronizing why the subject must not be explored. These Ravenclaws are quiet and secretive, but don't be fooled by that calm and placid exterior; they have hidden depths.
wand: 11 1/4 inches, Hawthorn, Brittle, and Griffin claw core.
Hawthorn: A masculine wood. Draws off the element of air. Seeks a companion in search of power and strength. Use this wood for protection and defensive work. Harness the power of lightning and use it to spark creativity and self development. Excellent for charms and concealment magic.
Brittle- A wand with this flexibility tends to attach itself quickest to owners who have insecurities, and its level of loyalty is often dependent on how loyal the owner is to it. Should it become very loyal to its original owner, new owners often won't get the chance to earn the wand's loyalty before it breaks. Brittle wands are best suited to subtle and delicate magic, such as transfiguration and non-verbal spell-casting. Because they break easy, their owners should be careful to avoid magic that is unnecessarily flashy or explosive, especially if the wand also has a dragon heartstring core. Owners with this wand flexibility are usually contemplative, clever, and somewhat cynical; they tend to be an "underdog" type of person and perhaps even a little bit unlucky, which could lead them to becoming resentful of their more successful peers. If a brittle wand owner perseveres and manages to get over their insecurities, however, he or she will often become a "great success story" that never ceases to amaze and inspire others.
Griffin Claw: A majestic creature of enormous strength, the griffin is consider to be king of beasts and birds; it possesses the bravery of a lion and the dexterity of an eagle. They are often known to guard vast treasures. A griffins claw is a wise choice for one who wishes to cast powerful defensive spells, charms or hexes. It would make an excellent companion to woods that draw off the elements of air and earth.
OWLs: O in Transfiguration, O in Herbology, O in Potions, O in Arithmacy, O in DADA, O in Charms, O in Ancient Runes, E in History of MAgic, E in Astronomy

Contrary to his prim and proper upbringing and being self titled a 'nerd', Kavi looks very casual. He likes his jeans and loose shirts. He only dresses up when he needs too. He has shoulder length brown hair and brown eyes. He either ties up his hair or leaves it down, but he refuses to cut it. Kavi is about five ten and has as lean, muscular build. The two most striking things about Kavi's face is his brows and how expressive his eyes can be.

Kavi is very intelligent. He has always excelled in school. Even though his teachers wanted to moved him up a grade his mother was determined that her son would be in the same class as students his own age. Because of this he went to many science summer camps and had extra work at home to keep his mind busy. Not only is he smart, he is also very mature for his age. He is a leader, a take charge kind of person. He does well under pressure and stress.
While Kavi likes having friends and hanging out with them he also likes to keep most of his secrets tucked deep down inside. He has his worries about his future and if his grades are high enough. He also has the ultimate secret of being gay. He hides this deep down and dates only girls. It is as if he is trying to turn himself straight. He feels that if anyone knows about this he will be letting everyone down.
His one vise is coffee, he lives on caffeine. Kavi is the most forgetful person. While he can remember what happened on June 21st, 1605, in both the muggle world and the wizarding world, he can not for the life of him remember when his own mother's birthday is. Growing up in a muggle family for most of his life he identifies more with muggles, hopes to one day become president.

parents: Sanjay(Gita) Bali and Marsha(Patrick) Martin (nee Hall) siblings: Abigail(Abbie) Bali(15), Kishor Bali(9), Hayden Martin(7), Jayden(JJ) Martin(5)
history: Sanjay Bali was born in Bristol, England to magical parents. Along with his younger brother they attended wizarding school. Sanjay wanted to become Minister of Magic in England but just after his seventh year he decided to go to America and study for a year. There was were he met Marsha Hall, another aspiring political student. Marsha was an only child from an upper class muggle family that summered in the Hamptons. She grew up in a family that told her she could do anything she put her mind to. She also knew about magic as a cousin of hers was a muggle born.
The pair fell in love and when Sanjay went back home they wrote each other. It was another two years before Sanjay could come back to visit. After that they kept writing back and forth until Marsha moved to England. Sanjay's parents were not too happy that their son wanted to marry a white woman and not an Indian woman. They spent two years together in England before getting married.
Kavi came with in their first year of marriage. Abigail was a year later. It was on a trip back to visit her parents that the young couple had their first son almost three months early. Both Kavi and sister have English first names and Indian middle names. From a young age Kavi spent most of his time at baby sisters and friends of his parents as his parents worked to establish their jobs. They didn't, however, forget about him. On days off they took him museums and zoos. Sanjay also taught his son about magic.
There was soon too much stress on Marsha to be a stay at home and be a wife. She wanted to be in politics, but her in-laws and even her husband said that she should be home with the kids. They finally split when she found out that Sanjay was having an affair. She took the kids and moved back in with her parents in upstate New York. While she worked to secure a job in New York City her parents took care of Kavi and Abbie, they put them in after school programs and the best schools their money could buy. Both Kavi and Abbie showed magical powers, though being in a muggle family they spent a lot of time with muggles.
As a young kid Kavi would watch CSPAN. Not something that children or even adults wanted to do. While he didn't really understand most of it, he still loved watching it. He also loved arguing his point with his mother. His parents were both so proud that their son was going to follow in their footsteps. When Kavi was eight his mother married an old college friend and went on to have two more children. Two year later his mother won her first election to New York City's Counsel.
Kavi and Abbie still got to see their father every summer and his new family, but they never felt completely comfortable. His father had married an Indian woman, who was also magical, that saw Kavi as rival to her own young son. Kavi stopped going to England the summer before his fouth year.
When he was eleven he received his Hogwarts letter. While his step-father knew of the magic he didn't know that children like Kavi and Abbie would go to special schools. He was sorted into Ravenclaw and made a few friends. While he was half-blood he more identified with being muggle born. In his fifth year he was named Prefect and even his father sent him a letter about how proud he was. Their relationship was strained but Kavi did appreciated the letter.
